Learn how to limit your chat interactions to specific workspaces, ensuring the model only works with documents relevant to your selected scope.
Using Workspaces to Define Chat Scope
Recommendation: Use workspace scope when you want to explore or analyze all content in a specific domain, and document scope when you need precision.
Next step: Decide at the start of your session whether your scope should be workspace-based or document-based
From the chat interface, you can define the scope of your interaction by selecting one or more workspaces. A workspace corresponds to a folder containing documents. When a scope is set, the model will only use the documents available in the selected workspace(s).
This makes it much easier to restrict searches or analyses to a specific dataset without having to select individual documents one by one.
2. How to Set the Scope in Chat
-
Open the Chat interface.
-
Locate the Scope / Context settings.
-
Select one or more workspaces you want to include.
-
Start your query: the model will only work with documents from these workspaces.
Limitations
You can set the scope either by workspace(s) or by specific documents, but not both at the same time.
