How to create a new prompt

Crafting effective prompts is key to harnessing the full potential of AI tools like Paradigm. This guide outlines the steps to create robust, reusable prompts for various organizational tasks.

1)Initiate the creation process:

From the prompt List, click on the "Create a prompt" button to initiate the prompt creation process.

2) Requirements:

In the first step, called "Requirements," you'll be prompted to briefly explain the task you want to build.
To clarify, let's look at two examples of what prompt assistant can and can't do:

Good example

"Write an article on my blog presenting weekly news of my company"
-> This task is generic and repetitive, making it ideal for automation and reuse.

Bad example

"Write an article on my blog about my new product called Paradigm"
-> This task is too specific, more a one-shot won't fit for a reccurent automation.

3) Select and Specify Success Criteria:

Depending on your requirements, Paradigm will automatically suggest and contextualize success criteria to help you define the criteria for prompt success.

Success criteria help refine your prompt and enhance the model's understanding by improving the prompt.

4) Select Context Fields (input):

Context fields are used to specify the information (input) the end user must provide each time they use the prompt. You can choose to generate more or manually add context fields.

For each field, you can define a default value to streamline the task. For example:
If your task generates job descriptions, context fields can include "Job Title," "Hard Skills," and "Soft Skills."

5) Evaluation:

For the first time, you'll see the final prompt based on your choices.

You can manually input information into each field .

After testing, you must evaluate the initial result before saving the prompt. You can provide feedback by giving a thumbs up or down and adding comments.

Recommendation

It's highly recommended to specify which success criteria the result meets to collect valuable feedback

Save your evaluation by clicking the "Evaluate" button.

After your initial evaluation, you can save the prompt or go back to previous steps to adjust success criteria or context fields.

6) Final Steps:

After clicking "Save," you can choose to save and share the prompt.

  • Define a clear name.
  • Provide a short description.
Task in production can't be edited

If you move the prompt to production, all users in your company will have access, and you won't be able to edit it.
